What does Cravo & Canela Means?

“Cravo” is the name given to Clove in Brazil and “Canela” is the Portuguese name given to Cinnamon. Both are key spices in every Brazilian’s kitchen cupboard.

What type of food does Cravo & Canela produce?

At Cravo & Canela we believe that food should be simple and delicious. Our savouries and sweets are made using traditional Brazilian recipes, our cakes are all handmade and ideal for any celebration.

How can I place my order?

Do you have Vegan or Vegetarian dishes?

Brazilian cuisine is known for its meat based dishes, we do have a couple of vegetarian savouries in our menu and most of our sweets and cakes are suitable for vegetarian diets however we do not produce any Vegan food.

Do you have any Halal products?

We do not recommend our products to Halal diets as our kitchen is a mixed facility where we handle different types of ingredients including pork, gelatine and alcohol. Most of our sweets and cakes can be consumed however only a couple of savouries would be suitable. We strongly recommend that you call us on 020 8090 3438 before placing your order if you have any dietary requirement.

Do you have any products suitable for nuts allergies?

Unfortunately, all our products may contain traces of nuts and we cannot guarantee any nuts safe product.

Does Cravo & Canela offer Gluten-Free options?

We strive to provide as many gluten-free options as possible, our Brazilian Style Cheese Bread and most of our sweets are gluten-free. Our cakes are made to order therefore we can bake a delicious gluten-free cake for you. However, we do advise that your products may contain traces of flour as we are not a gluten-free facility.

What is the cut-off time for ordering online?

Our cakes, sweets and some savouries are hand prepared, we need at least 72 hours’ notice to prepare your order. If your order is urgent please contact us on 020 8090 3438 and we will try our best to fulfil your order at short notice.

Do you have a minimum order?

Our products are prepared in small batches to ensure its freshness and quality. All products will have a minimum order which varies from one item to another. You can find the minimum quantities to order by visiting our online shop and clicking on the product you wish to purchase.

I am preparing a party; how much should I order?

There is no right or wrong answer for this question; it all depends on who is coming to your party, the time of the day you will serve the food, age of your guests and amazingly their gender! To make it easier we put together some guidelines to help you:

  • Males will consume in average 650gms of food while ladies will consume in average 500gms.
  • Every 4 children under 5 years of age should be counted as 1 male adult.
  • An adult will consume in average 8 to 10 savouries, 3 to 4 sweets and between 100gms and 120gms of cake.
  • Parties between 12noon and 2pm will require more food than parties starting after 3pm.

The total food ordered will depend on several factors such as your audience (Europeans? Brazilians? Mixed?). The length of your party (the longer the party more food needed) and if you serve different types of food (e.g. Are you having a barbecue?)

I need to cancel or amend my order, what should I do?

Either phone or email our customer service team to amend or cancel your order. Please note that we can only amend your order up to 48 hours before your collection or delivery day/time.

For cancellation you need to give us at least 72 hours’ prior notice. After this time, we are unable to issue any refunds or make any amendments to your order. I did not receive my order confirmation, what should I do?

Normally you should receive your order confirmation by email within 24 hours. If you do not receive anything call us on 020 8090 3438 to ensure that everything is ok.

Do you require payment when ordering?

All orders must be paid in full at the time of order, when placing your order online, a member of our team will get in touch within 24 hours (Monday to Friday) to double check your order and receive payment.

Can I return an item?

Upon receiving your goods you find it is incomplete or contains products different from those you have ordered, contact us immediately on 020 8090 3438 and we will make sure to put things right. Please note that you are ordering perishable items and we are unable to offer refunds or accept returns of goods that have been wrongly ordered.

Do you deliver or do I have to collect my order?

We strongly recommend that our valued customer collect their own goods at our central kitchen, we can arrange for a delivery to your chosen post code however it is a chargeable service, provided by a third part company. I have an allergy; how can I find out what each product contains?

We treat allergies very seriously and we encourage our customers to check each of our products in our Online Shop as we publish the allergen list of each item.  Please note that although some of our items are wheat, dairy and nut free, they are baked in an environment in which all these items are handled! How long will my delicious Cravo & Canela food keep fresh?

Our food is prepared with fresh ingredients and have no E-number or preservatives. They are delicious parcels of happiness and in an unlikely event of you having any left overs here is what you should do: cakes containing fresh fruit will last between 24 and 48 hours and cakes with no fruit will last between 2 and 3 days, sweets can be kept for up to 3 days. Cakes and sweets must be kept refrigerated at all times. Savouries are for immediate consumption; we do not recommend that you keep any left overs savouries for later use.
